With that a producer who saw the show asked if she had ever thought of being an art director and gave her a small promo job. Sophie had never really enjoyed working solo and excelled in being part of a team where she could create. Working alongside Create 180, She now has a huge knowledge of materials and processes which helpfully informs her designs. She graduated from Norwich School of Art and Design in 2007 in BA Contemporary Textiles. During her time there she also worked in a sewing and knitting shop learning lots from the other staff and became a skilled seamstress. Her final piece was a faux natural history display of fantastical fabric animals. Looking back now, what she had built without realising was a small set with soft props! After a few years of making soft toys and textile pieces to sell at craft fairs, in 2011 she landed a job on the weekend TV show T4. This is where she met Sophie and they have worked together ever since making things for TV shows. At first in Sophie’s Kitchen and now at the Workshop of Create 180.
